Project: Parenting Matters for Interfaith Harmony

Parents play a vital role in shaping the mental health, emotional well-being, and values of their children. Through love, guidance, positive role modelling, and supportive family environments, parents help children develop resilience, empathy, confidence, and respect for others. Positive parenting contributes to peaceful behaviour and encourages children to embrace diversity, while family conflict, discrimination, and neglect can negatively affect mental healtha and social relationships. It emphasizes that strong mental health forms the foundation for peaceful families, cohesive communities, and interfaith harmony.

The mental health sessions focus on stress management, emotional well-being, positive parenting, women’s empowerment, and peaceful coexistence. Participants learn practical strategies to improve their mental health while recognizing their role as children’s first teachers in promoting respect, compassion, and harmony. The initiative reinforced WPTGF’s commitment to strengthening families, fostering interfaith understanding, and building a more peaceful and inclusive Pakistan.

The sessions with children enable them to understand the importance of keeping themselves happy with their family members. We also encourage children to participate in activities such as painting, knitting, art work and physical games.
